Gateway Sporting Goods has been a staple on the Historic Independence Square since the early 1960s.  Gateway Sporting Goods was purchased by the Hart Family in 1985, and the business continues under their ownership. 

After serving the community as a sports specialty retailer for decades, we rebranded to Gateway Letter Jackets in the early 2000s to focus specifically on high school letter jackets. This focus on letter jackets allows us to provide you with the personal attention, customization, and high-quality products you’ve come to know and appreciate at Gateway.

Earning a Varsity Letter is a great accomplishment, and Gateway assists high school students in showcasing their achievements with a high-quality letter jacket. In addition to our high-quality letter jackets and chenille patches, our knowledgeable team members give students one-on-one attention during fittings and patch order appointments to ensure our customers are getting exactly what they would like on their jacket. Letter Jacket Fittings: While it can be tempting to order online, letter jackets occasionally fit differently than other articles of clothing. We highly recommend coming into our store to try on jackets and find the fit that works well for you. Letter jackets are a big investment, and it’s important to have a jacket that fits well. Gateway is proud to offer a full size-run in both Women’s and Men’s sizing in all area schools.

Personalized Patches: We are proud to help you design personalized custom patches that showcase your activities and accomplishments. Our knowledgeable team members will work with you to create and order patches that display Conference, District, and State honors, as well as academic, activity, and club patches.

Sewing: Gateway is proud to offer sewing on all our jackets. Once you order your letter jacket from us, we will complete sewing on your jacket for its lifetime. Bring in any patches that you earn at school and we can add them to your jacket.

School Partnerships: Gateway also partners with schools to sell letter jackets at school activities or events. We can attend games, concerts, back-to-school nights, etc. to meet your students and parents at a time and location that works well for your community.
